10 Document Resources

A current roster of leaders and other Service Team volunteers is maintained by the Service Unit Managers and is distributed periodically at Service Team meetings.

An inventory of camping equipment is maintained by the Outdoor Consultant and is available on request.

The Service Team also has a modest library of books and other instructional material available for leaders to borrow. Contact a member of the Service Team for more information. The inventory is in a state flux and some of the holdings do go out of date over time.

Collections of words to a large body of songs, generally suitable for campfire singing, are in master copy and can be reproduced on request. Also available is a sheet of words to songs with exclusively Girl Scout themes---especially those popular in Swift Water Girl Scout Council and surrounding councils.

A collection of inspirational material, suitable for use in conducting a "Scouts Own", is available in master copy and can be reproduced on request.

11 Service Team Meetings

Service Team meetings are generally held at the Lincoln Street School Library the first Monday each month, from 7 to 8:20 pm, during the Girl Scout year (see Table 1), except when the first Monday falls on a national holiday. Volunteers who have attended past meetings receive mailings of the minutes of the meeting just past and the proposed agenda of the next meeting, which includes the meeting date, time, and place.

Each troop is asked to send at least one registered adult representative. At these meetings: decisions are made, information is shared, and concerns are raised that affect the functioning of each troop. Often, issues are decided by the vote a simple majority. If your troop is not represented, the opportunity for those girls to influence the outcome is forfeited.

A generalized sample agenda follows:

 o Opening (poem)

o Product Sales (cookies, calendars, other)

 o Spring camporee

 o Other communty events

 o Cluster events/meetings

 o Council program events

 o Training opportunities/needs

 o Game/Song/Craft/Ceremony presentation
